Sunday Summary: Lots of Treats

20 May

This week we have been looking at hidden gem wedding venues which we will be sharing with you over the next week. We’ve also been working hard on our new website which will be ready to launch in June. We’re super excited about it and can’t wait to share it with everyone.

We also had a little field trip yesterday to the Pantiles Food Festival in Tunbridge Wells. It’s always a great place to find lovely, talented and food obsessed people who cater for weddings in the county.

We kicked off on Monday with news of a bridal gown sale at Froufrou Bridal Boutique which is on next month and includes discounted dresses from famous designer names (see a few of the dresses available below)

We also shared with you two fantastic Kent suppliers. Florist in the Forest was up first with owner Katherine Craft, who showed us her beautiful and stunning designs. Katherine is a talented lady as she not only creates her designs but also grows her own flowers at her studio and cutting garden in Broadwater Forest. Then we met Jennie Bishop of Little Boutique Bakery where we got to see just some of her fantastic wedding cakes. Jennie told us “we are known for our elegant and unique designs and attention to detail, we only take on a limited number of commissions per week so we can ensure the utmost quality and time required to complete orders.” These are cake and flower designs you won’t want to miss out on!

The final part of our series about Planning a Vintage Wedding was all about the dress and how to find it. Whether you want a true vintage gown or are going for vintage styled one we shared our favourites from a range of designers and online boutiques.

Then to round off the week we brought you five of the best wedding pumps so you could save your feet but still look gorgeous!

That’s it from us so Happy Sunday everyone.

Wedding Dress of the Week: Candy Anthony

28 Nov

Wedding dress by Candy Anthony

We absolutely love this dress by Candy Anthony which is ideal for all you 50’s inspired wedding dolls in need of a winter wedding dress.

The Candy Anthony brand works from a boutique in London’s Oxo Tower Wharf, where they design bridal and evening gowns which are all inspired by the 1950’s and 60’s ‘High Society’.

Where possible they use UK sourced fabrics and trimmings and have a small but perfectly formed design team who keep the business unique, personal and quintessentially British.

Prices for their dresses start from £995 but hurry because if you place your order before the 30th November 2011 you can save 20% on your entire purchase.

Luxury Wedding Show: 22 & 23 October 2011 Saatchi Gallery

28 Oct

Off we went to the luxury wedding show this weekend which was held at the Saatchi Gallery on London’s Kings Road.

The venue was fabulous for a wedding show as it’s white walls and calming influence made the show feel serene and plush and not at all overwhelming. The suppliers were a really friendly and welcoming bunch and ready to help with an array of answers to any wedding question you could ask.

Tickets were £50 a pop (and then theres the train fare to factor in) but if you needed high-end inspiration you had come to the right place.

The ticket price included the all important goody bag (Opi Nail Polish, 3 Elemis Anti-Wrinkle Creams, Cleansing Oil, Gui Flapjack bar, 3 perfume samples and Pearl Drops toothpaste) and entrance into the catwalk show with complimentary glass of Pommery.

The catwalk show was one of the slickest we had seen all year with a great collection of dresses from Vera Wang, Vivienne Westwood, David Fielden, Monique Lhuillier, Marchesa, Temperley London, Delphine Manivet, Carolina Herrera, Peter Langner, Charlotte Casadejus, Luella’s Boudoir, Candy Anthony, Kula Tsurdiu, Angelina Colarusso and The State of Grace – we’d have dared you not to find your perfect dress amongst them!

Even if you don’t have a huge budget the show is perfect for taking inspiration from some of the biggest names in the wedding industry.

Our verdict? Save your money on other wedding show entrance fees and come here – you won’t be disappointed!

Here’s a selection of our favourites from the catwalk show. All photographs are by Christoper Dadey. Thanks to Smith & Monger.
